Emmanuel comes with twenty year development work and private sector experience covering governance strengthening, organizational development and capacity building, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation and legislative strengthening. He joined TIN from the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Washington DC where he was the Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for Central and West Africa, providing guidance for the Institutes multi-donor programs aimed at deepening and consolidating democratic foundations across the region. Earlier on, he was the Monitoring, Evaluation and Information Officer for the Afghanistan Parliamentary Assistance Project in Kabul; a project implemented by the Centre for International Development of the State University of New York. Emmanuel's other experiences include serving as the Senior M&E Specialist for the USAID/Nigeria Monitoring, Evaluation and Management Systems project implemented by The Mitchell Group, Washington DC. He was also a Program Manager in the Democracy and Governance office of USAID/Nigeria where he managed the mission’s civil society strengthening, the labor strengthening and the elections and political process support activities at different times. He also managed the joint activity of the Democracy & Governance Office and Economic Growth and Agriculture Office, code-named PROSPECT - (Promoting Stakeholders Participation in Economic Transition).

An expert in Mergers and acquisition and general corporate legal practice has proved her mettle in corporate structuring and restructuring over the years.She was instrumental to the Drafting of the enabling statute for the first court connected dispute resolution centre in Nigeria; the Lagos Multi –Door Court House (LMDC) Law 2007. She has also exhibited expertise in the management of not for profit institutions, project development, project management, monitoring and evaluation. She currently heads the Advocacy and Legal Advice Centre Project of TIN. She is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN) and the International Bar Association (IBA). |

Mr. Uche Maurice Maduemesi hails from Adazi-Nnukwu, Anambra State, Nigeria and was born on the 6th day of December, 1963. A legal practitioner and an accomplished journalist with more than 2 decades post-qualification experience, he has worked with many media establishments in Nigeria. He has also tried his hands in publishing by founding a now rested provincial newspaper, The Republican, based in Enugu.
The publication was noted for its activism and was in the vanguard of exposing the misgovernance and corruption by the civilian State governments in the catchment area it was circulating. His stance led to life-threatening physical attacks and incarceration by agents of the then government of Enugu State led by Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani. Maduemesi studied Mass Communication at the Institute of Management and Technology, IMT, Enugu; later Marketing, Public Relations and Law respectively at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Married with children, he joined Transparency In Nigeria in November, 2009. |
